Google offers Glass to new batch of 'VIPs' - Telegraph.co.uk

Google has reportedly offered its Glass wearable computer for sale to a further selection of people in an offer for "VIPs". The company has been testing the product for some time, having recruited a group of "Glass Explorers" who paid for the chance to get early prototypes.

It has slowly been expanding that Explorer scheme, first to attendees at the I/O conference and then to friends of existing owners. Now it has apparently emailed a subset of those using Google Music All Access to offer them the chance to buy their own Glass.

The email reportedly directs users to a sign-up page which reminds any potential customers that Glass Explorers must be resident in the US, at least 18-years-old and able to supply a US mailing address or be able to pick up their device from New York, Los Angeles or San Francisco.

It also mentioned that customers "must purchase Glass", but fails to mention the price which was $1,500 for those who have already been able to buy a pair.

Glass is a wearable computer consisting of a small screen which sits above the wearer's right eye and appears as though a 25" display just inside their peripheral vision. Because of the lack of buttons it is operated by voice control: wake up Glass by tapping the side then saying "OK Glass - take a picture", or "record a video" or "get directions to..."
