A Virginia man is going to have to have to give his 8-year-old son the birds and bees talk a lot sooner than he ever thought after his Christmas present.
Tom Mayhew, of Hampton Va., bought a handheld Nintendo video game console for his 8-year-old son for Christmas. But the gift was quickly confiscated when he discovered there were pornographic images saved on the game system, reported TV Station WAVY.

"It is an eye opener," he told the station. "Why would those even be on there?"

The Walmart in Hampton, Va., where Tom Mayhew had bought the Nintendo device that had pornographic images on its screen.
Mayhew's son and his friends began taking pictures with the gift but when they opened the file to view the pictures they found about a dozen pornographic pictures, Mayhew said.

The pornographic pictures on the Nintendo video game console Tom Mayhew bought as a Christmas gift for his 8-year-old son were time-stamped earlier this month, and Mayhew believes it may have been used and returned to the store.
"It was a shocker because we had family here, and there were a lot of kids here," he told the station. "The kids were the ones that discovered those pictures."
The pictures were time-stamped earlier this month and Mayhew believes the system may have been used before by someone else and returned to the local Walmart where Mayhew bought it a few days before the holiday. The previous owners didn't bother to destroy the pictures before turning the console in, Mayhew believes.

"There is no reason for them to be even really on there," Mayhew told the station regarding the pictures. "It's disgusting for one. It seems that this was the only thing left on it."
Mayhew could not be reached for comment Saturday. He said he hadn't spoken to his son about the matter yet but told the station he now thinks he should to explain these pictures.
The station said Walmart has not returned a request for comment.
