The Korean Herald cited a few "industry watchers", such as Lee Seung-woo, an analyst from IBK Securities. The analyst said that "Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy Gear 2," and said device should be expected in stores by early next year. Separate from Lee, another source told the Herald that the Galaxy Gear 2 may be launched at MWC 2014 together with the Galaxy Band.
Basic specs weren't mentioned, but the report did include some details on each device's features. The Galaxy Gear 2 may, on top of having some problems on the original device sorted out, include a flexible OLED display. The Galaxy Band is said to be a health wristband that allows users to track their blood pressure and heart rate, and may be similar in concept to the Nike Fuelband and other health-related gadgets.
Additionally, it does look like Samsung's cross-country rival LG may have some plans to unveil similar devices at MWC 2014. According to separate reports from both Duam and Korea Herald from Thursday, LG will be unveiling the G Arch and G Health at MWC 2014 – the first device is a smartwatch, while the second one is a health band. As for Samsung, its focus on peripheral devices at MWC 2014 seems evident, and we should probably not expect a Galaxy S5 reveal at that expo, considering how Samsung prefers to launch flagship devices at Unpacked events.
