LG webOS TV shows its face in new leaked image - PhoneDog

Rumors of LG's webOS smart TV have been swirling for the past month or so, but so far all that has leaked are a few of the unit's spec details. That's changing in a big way today, though, because an image of the webOS-powered set has made its way online ahead of its CES 2014 debut.

Posted by prolific leakster @evleaks, the render shows an LG-branded television set with a unique stand and a whole mess of apps at the bottom of its display. Included in the list are YouTube, Facebook, Skype, Accuweather, Twitter, a web browser and more. It's been said that the TV would include card-based interface that webOS is known for, and while the UI shown in today's leak doesn't look exactly like the webOS that we know, it's likely that LG decided to tweak the look and feel a bit while adapting webOS for use on its big-screened TVs.

If previous rumors about LG's webOS TV are to be believed, the unit will be powered by a 2.2GHz dual-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM. LG has also said that plans to support Enyo, the Javascript framework used to create apps for webOS. Considering both that and the fact that it's been quite a while since we've seen a new webOS-powered product on the market, it'll definitely be interesting to check out this TV in action and to see how much support LG throws behind it. Perhaps if it does well enough, LG will even consider a new webOS phone? It certainly wouldn't be the first crazy thing to happen in the wireless world.
